Holiday Gingerbread Spice

A fabulous holiday tea with the flavour and aroma of old world style European gingerbread. Warm spices of ginger, anise and sweet cinnamon fill the cup with memories of Christmas and the holidays. Enjoy a steamy hot cup with cookies for dunking, or whip up a delicious gingerbread latte. Recipe follows.

Quantity: 50 grams

Ingredients: Black tea (Orange Pekoe) cinnamon, star anise, cocoa beans, ginger, safflower petals, chamomile petals and organic natural flavour

Tasting Notes: Warm ginger spice with delicious notes of chocolate, cinnamon and star anise

GINGERBREAD LATTE RECIPE:
• Steep 2 heaped teaspoons of Holiday Gingerbread Spice in 1/2 cup pure water (boiled to 100ºC/212ºF) for 4 – 5 minutes
• Strain tea into a warmed mug
• Add 3/4 cup of steamed milk of choice (or milk heated in a pot on the stove or microwave)
• Sweeten if desired with maple syrup, brown sugar or ginger simple syrup
• Garnish 1. A dollop of whipped cream, a dusting of ground ginger and a cinnamon stir stick.
• Garnish 2. A dollop of whipped cream topped with a crumbled gingerbread cookie

Brewing Temperature: 100ºC/212ºF

Steep Time: 4 – 5 minutes (For a stronger brew use more tea rather than steeping longer, Over steeping pulls out the tannins in tea which can cause a bitter taste)
