Morning Sunrise Fruit Tea

Start the day off right with a glass of high in vitamin C Morning Sunrise! Sweet oranges and vanilla steep into a tea that is just as delicious as it is good for you. Enjoy steamy hot on cold mornings or iced in the summertime. Yummy in smoothies – recipe below.

Quantity: 50 grams

Ingredients: Oranges, apples, rosehips, hibiscus, sunflowers, safflowers, vanilla and organic natural flavour

Tasting Notes: Bright, fresh full sweet orange taste with a light tartness from hibiscus and rosehips, finishing with smooth vanilla

Antioxidant Level: Medium-High

Caffeine Level: None

Infusion: Orange-red infusion

Brewing Hot Tea:
• Bring fresh cold water to a rolling boil 100C/212F.
• Put 1 heaped teaspoon of tea for each 8oz (237ml) cup into a mug or teapot
• Pour boiled water over tea and let steep 5 -10 minutes
• Strain and sweeten if desired

Making Iced Tea:
• Bring fresh cold water to a rolling boil 100C/212F
• Put 2 heaped teaspoons of tea for each cup (8oz/237ml) into a teapot or heat-resistant pitcher
• Add boiled water and steep for 15 – 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the fridge for maximum strength)
• Strain, sweeten to taste, chill and serve

Culinary Uses:
• Makes an excellent base for cocktails or sangria
• Add white spirits and tonic water for a delicious summer cooler. Garnish with fresh oranges and a sprig of mint
• Freeze tea for ice cubes or tasty frozen ice pops

Culinary Tip: Steep 2 to 3 times stronger for use in dessert recipes or as a base for smoothies or drinks

SMOOTHIE RECIPE
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup double strength iced Morning Sunrise (can be made in advance and kept in the fridge for 2-3 days)
• 1 banana
• 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
• 1/2 cup milk/plant milk of choice
• 3-4 ice cubes (or frozen Morning Sunrise ice cubes)
Optional: honey to sweeten

How To:
– Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
– Sweeten with honey if desired
– ENJOY!
