Organic Jasmine Gold Green

This exquisite green tea is only made possible by the pre-dawn picking of midnight May flowers. This particular Jasmine plant (Jasminum sambac) comes into bloom during May and June. The blossom lasts for 12 hours and only opens at night after the sun goes down. Halfway through the night, the fragrance is at its peak, and this is when the blossoms are picked and layered into the waiting tea. By morning most of the fragrance has disappeared from the blossom, but if it has been harvested correctly, the heavenly jasmine scent is captured and preserved in the tea - creating Jasmine Gold!
