A superior quality spring season green tea with rich body and captivating taste. Slightly vegetative with a refreshing, clean taste, Osprey Gunpowder is a rolled leaf green tea. This method of rolling the leaf (called gunpowder for its resemblance to gunpowder pellets) retains more flavour and aroma and keeps the tea fresher, longer. Osprey Gunpowder is a single source organic tea picked from a tea estate west of Hangzhou in the Zhejiang province. The smaller the 'gunpowder pearls' the higher the quality of gunpowder. A delightful green tea to sip and savour.

CULINARY TIPS: Add a few gunpowder ‘pearls’ to other teas to increase their flavour and potency. Replace 1/2 the water in recipes with brewed tea. Example: Steam rice with 1/2 water and 1/2 brewed green tea.

BREWING HOT TEA: Steep in a glass teapot or cup to enjoy watching the leaves unfurl. Gunpowder tea can be re-infused 2 - 4 times. Start with a 2-minute steep at 78° C or 175°F and increase the steep time by 30 seconds for each re-infusion. The leaves will continue to unfurl and the flavour will change with each re-infusion.
