Cucumber Basil Lime Sipper

RECIPE MAKES 2 SIPPERS

INGREDIENTS
• 2 cups pure water
• Optional: 2 teaspoons loose-leaf green tea
• 1 large sprig of basil
• 1 large sprig of mint
• 1 cucumber, unpeeled, cut into long slices

• 1-2 tablespoons of honey or sweetener of choice
• 1-2 limes
• 2 glasses
OPTIONAL: White or Silver Tequila

GARNISHES
• Fresh basil, edible flowers and shoots

INSTRUCTIONS
• Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Once boiled remove from the heat and add in the basil, mint, half the cucumber slices, and tea if using. Cover and let steep 10 minutes if using tea, 15-20 minutes without, and set aside to cool
• While water, herbs and tea are infusing, in a small cup combine the honey (or sweetener of choice) with a splash of hot water and stir until sweetener is dissolved
• Strain the cucumber herb (tea) liquid, discard solids and stir in the honey mixture. Squeeze in the juice of 1-2 limes, depending on how juicy they are.

TO SERVE
• Line 2 glasses with remaining cucumber slices, add ice, sprigs of basil, mint and a lime slice
• Divide the cucumber infusion between the 2 glasses. Add tequila if using and garnish with edible flowers and herbs

TIPS
• Make a stronger infusion by using more cucumber, herbs and tea. Use large taller glasses and top with sparkling water or soda for a bubbly sipper
• Switch up the herbs, or amounts, for ones you enjoy the most. There’s no right or wrong way to make this refreshing drink. Happy sipping!
