If you love iced tea, strawberries and summer this refreshing sipper is the drink for you! Brimming with the fresh flavours of strawberries, basil and high-antioxidant green tea, makes this iced tea as healthy for you as it is delicious!

 

 

Iced Strawberry Green Tea

RECIPE MAKES 2 SERVINGS OF ICED TEA

INGREDIENTS
• 2 heaped tablespoons of Organic Strawberry Fruit Crush Green Tea
• 2 cups pure water, freshly boiled
• 2 cups of ice cubes
• ½ cup of fresh strawberries, sliced
• 2 fresh sprigs of basil
• Optional: honey or sweetener of choice
* Optional: cucumber slices

 

HOW TO
1. Add tea to a heat-proof container or teapot
2. Bring water to a rolling boil, then cool to 85C/185F
3. Pour slightly cooled water over tea and steep 5 minutes
4. While tea is steeping add 2 cups of ice cubes to a 6-cup container
5. Strain steeped tea and sweeten if desired
6. Pour strained tea over ice cubes
7. Stir in strawberries, fresh basil leaves, and cucumber if using
(At this point iced tea can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 day)
8. Fill 2 glasses with ice cubes. Divide iced tea, strawberries and basil between the 2 glasses
9. Garnish with additional strawberries, basil and cucumbers if desired

TIPS
• Top iced tea with sparkling water or soda for a bubbly twist on a classic iced tea
• Make a simple syrup and store it in the fridge. Use to sweeten iced tea and drinks
• Freeze Strawberry Green Tea into tea cubes. Add the tea cubes to iced teas or plain water for a refreshing, tasty water on-the-go
