Rose Petal Sugar Scrub

INGREDIENTS – Updated January 2024

• ¼ – ½ cup organic avocado or almond oil. (If you prefer using coconut oil see notes below.) Use more oil for a wetter scrub, less oil for a drier scrub

• Glass jar with lid for storing the scrub

HOW TO
• Medium-fine grind rose petals in a food processor and set aside
• Measure oil into a small glass measuring cup, add in rose oil if using
• In a small mixing bowl add sugar and salt
• Add rose petals to dry sugar/salt mix and stir together
• Pour oil (a bit at a time) over the dry mix and stir until desired consistency us achieved
• Spoon into a glass jar with a lid

TO USE
Gently rub on your skin while showering, then rinse away. The results are deliciously fragrant, soft and silky skin!

JANUARY 2024 UPDATE
I’ve updated the recipe from coconut oil to avocado or almond oil. Coconut oil feels lovely on the skin, however it is a solid at room temperature and not as friendly to drain pipes. Use it if you prefer but just be aware that it could cause clogs or drain issues.

TIPS
For a lavender sugar scrub replace roses in the recipe with fresh or dried lavender and use a few drops of lavender essential oil. Or for a lovely lavender-rose scrub, combine 1/2 of each flower and use whichever essential oil you prefer to scent the scrub with.

NOTES
Know your allergies – if any ingredients are a concern be sure to do a skin patch test BEFORE you scrub your body with flowers or herbs.
